I’m Daniel, and I’ve always been a tinkerer.
I love the Guitar. It has been my passion since 2003 when I first picked it up, and I’m not bad at it. What I am great at, however, is getting into the nuts and bolts of things and working with them to suit my needs.
Shortly after starting to play, my guitar developed a bad buzzing sound, and rather than take it to a music shop for a repair, I grabbed a soldering iron, bought a book on electronics, and…well… made the problem even worse (I was 14, I’m just happy I didn’t electrocute myself). I then spent a further few days demystifying the inner workings of the electric guitar, fixed the problem, and haven’t looked back since. What started as a DIY repair ended up developing into as much of a passion as playing the instrument itself. Since then I’ve developed skills and techniques to excel in making guitars feel fantastic. I’ve built myself FX pedals, straps, pickups, cables, and pedalboards, all in the name of tinkering. I’ve refretted and intonated, restrung and rewired to my heart’s content in my pursuit of perfecting my instruments. I’ve even become infuriated with the endless quest to find the perfect pick and come up with my own solution to that (as, I hope, you already know).
Since 2010 I’ve been repairing, modifying, and setting up guitars for customers to make them play better than they ever have, from simply replacing pickups through to complete rebuilds, and since 2023 I’ve been crafting guitar picks so that musicians everywhere can finally find the perfect tools to complement their playing style.
